How to wire timers

How to wire timer
1) Timer-green-wire connects to bare ground wire.
2) Switch has 2 wires. Take switch wires and connect to timer-black-wire and timer-red-wire. Choose either one for now.
3) In back of electric box are white wires twisted together and covered with wire nut. Connect timer-white to these wires.
4) If electric box does not have white wires described above, then connect timer-white to bare ground.
5) Turn on electricity, and push timer door which is also the ON-OFF button. If lights come on, timer is wired correctly. If lights do not come on, then reverse timer-red and timer-black wires.

Instructions: Unwrap battery and install.
Plug one remote unit into wall outlet, turn lamp to ON position, plug lamp into remote.
Red indicator lights up on remote unit.
Aim remote control at remote unit, press and hold 1ON to program remote control.
Plug another remote unit into another wall outlet, and repeat process using 2ON remote control.
To turn off remote unit, press 1OFF, 2OFF etc.

To have all remote units come on with single button control: Plug more than one remote unit into wall outlets around same room. Press 1ON.
To de-program, unplug remote unit from outlet.
Must be reset after power outage.

If wall unit stops working, it can be reset.
Un-plug from wall. Press and hold round plastic button for 10 seconds to reset. Plug back into wall. Press round plastic button again and see if red light resumes. Reprogram with remote control.

If plug-in timer doesn't work a) Check receptacle for power b) Check lamp is turned ON c) Check bulb is good. d) Digital programmable: Reset or clear timer before starting e) Analog: Check tabs or pins are set f) Check override switch pushed fully in position g) Try timer in different plug and with different lamp	h) Test circuit with inexpensive circuit analyzer from hardware i) Don't exceed maximum wattage j) Digital programmable: check for overlapping programs k) Digital programmable: write out programming steps l) Outdoor with photo cell > test with black tape over photo eye m Always reset digital timer before programming n) Write out programming steps o) Turn photo eye away from light source p) Check if timer has battery
Confused about setting analog dial timer with segments or pins. How these timers work: Clock motor rotates dial as time passes, and segments-or-pins click a tiny switch that turns lights on-off. Locate segments or pins on outer edge of dial, and move some segments up and leave others down. Or move pins in or out. To test plug-in type timers: turn lamp on, plug lamp into timer, plug timer into wall. Then manually rotate timer dial clockwise using fingers and see Load (lamp, light, motor) turn on-off. Most timers also have override switch, so move switch both directions to see how timer reacts. Manually rotating timer dial with fingers will show you how to set segments-pins and switch Next, look at time numbers printed on the dial, and set segments-pins to turn Load on-off at times you choose. Numbers with dark background are for nighttime hours. To set current time, rotate dial until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial:
Some timers have reset button that lets you revive old timer that stopped working. Some timers will not display if timer wired incorrectly. Some timers have rechargeable battery that must be charged 1 hour before starting. Rechargeable batteries wear out and timer goes bad. Some timers have battery that needs replacement. Timers with battery will stop displaying if exposed to cold temperatures over several days. Random vaction timers cannot be programmed > they have internal preset times for on-off operation.
