1. P1353ME Programmable timer P1353ME is a 3-circuit, 24 hour programmable timer with 3 on-off events per day, per circuit, repeated each day. The 3 circuits can control 3 separate loads (pump, lights, spa etc) ... and control each with same or different schedule .... or the P1353ME can control 2-speed pool pump and 1 other load depending on which of the 6 modes is set. Has a Countdown feature. Use 3 white buttons on face of timer to manually override programming. Each of the three 17 amp relays is rated for 1 Hp pump/motor at 120V AC, or 3 Hp at 240 volt AC. Buy PE153 Buy: P1353ME timer replacement The electronics are protected by a fuse located on back of timer. Image of back of timer Default input voltage is 120V AC. Or use jumper on back to select 240 volt AC. This is the voltage that powers the timer at terminals 1 and 2. Example wiring The 3 relays at terminals 3 thru 8 are dry; They receive no voltage when timer is connected to power at 1 and 2. Relays can control either 120V or 240V AC. Power must be off before any wiring is done or accessories added. There are accessory connections on back of timer for fireman's switch and Intermatic 178PA28A freeze sensor. See image of installation Fireman switch turns off gas heater 15-20 minutes before pump is scheduled to turn off, while freeze sensor will turn pump ON when temperature drops near freezing. 2. P4043ME and PE24VA Valve
actuator P4043ME will rotate two or three PE24VA motorized valve actuators to change water flow from pool to spa, or spa to pool. How it works: Connect 120V to white-black wires on back of the P4043ME, or connect 240V to red-black wires. There are 2 black-white wires on bottom of P4043ME. Connect these wires to the remote switch, for example a single pole switch, spring-wound countdown timer, or wire LY2 relay to Intermatic radio receiver, home automation etc. Energize remote switch wires with 120 or 240 volt. Wire single pole remote switch/ 120 or 240V Wire timer as remote switch 120 or 240V Wire remote control for remote switch/ 120V only If a momentary switch, or push button is chosen for remote swich, instead of ordinary on-off switch, then move jumpers on back of P4043ME from 1-2 to 2-3. The P4043ME has an internal transformer that produces safe 24 volt AC output. When the remote swtich changes position, 24 volts travels through the Intermatic 3-wire cable going to each PE24VA motorized valve actuator, so each valve rotates to opposite position at same time, changing water flow from pool to spa, or spa to pool. There is a 3-terminal heater thermostat connection on back of P4043ME. If a 2-thermostat heater is connected, then heater changes from high to low or low to high whenever valves rotate. Remote switch connection can be connected to a relay on the 5-channel PE653RC (shown below), letting you use the wireless hand held PE953 remote control (shown below) to rotate valves and change heater thernostat as described above. |

PE953 Wireless Hand held Remote For people wanting wireless control over pool functions, Intermatic makes the wireless hand held PE953 remote control that works with the 5-circuit PE653RC multiwave transceiver. Manual says the remote works with "MultiWave functions and other Z-Wave devices," and is guaranteed to work with Intermatic multiwave equipment. The wireless hand held PE953 is primarily made to communicate with one 5-circuit PE653RC multiwave receiver (shown below) which lets you control up to 5 loads including a P4043ME valve actuator (shown above) and 3 additional loads or a 2-speed pump and 2 additional loads etc. You can configure two PE953 remotes for same 5-circuit PE653 multiwave receiver. The water-resistant, PE953 wireless hand held remote can schedule on-off times for 1-2 speed pump, variable speed pump, booster cleaner, water flow to pool-spa, water and air temperature to prevent freezing, configured for other manufacturer's zwave devices .... or use the 5 override buttons located on face of remote. PE653RC 5-channel multiwave receiver The 5-circuit (with 5 relays) PE653RC multiwave receiver comes in a durable plastic weather resistant enclosure, and is made to attach to top of metal or plastic enclosure to give space for wire connections. Use with PE953 wireless remote, or use 5 buttons located on front. What to do: Install the 5-channel PE653RC receiver on top of any enclosure by drilling 1-3/8" hole, and then program all operations into the wireless hand held PE953 remote control. To avoid drilling, buy the all-in-one PE653RC package. Use voltage selector to choose 120 or 240 volt. Connect voltage to terminals 1 and 2. Wire the pump and blower. To control valve actuators and heater, connect one relay to the P4043ME remote switch wires ....or for more versatility ... connect to the P5043ME Expansion module (shown below). Connect water and air temperature sensors to top of 5-circuit PE653. Program the PE953 hand held remote to wirelessly operate the 5-circuit PE653RC. Or override programming by pushing any of the 5 buttons located on front. The 5 relays will control 5 different 120-240 volt loads including 1 or 2-speed pool pump, blower, low voltage lights etc. There is a connection for different brands of variable speed pump cable, and another connection for Intermatic Expansion Module (shown below), plus connections for fireman switch and temperature to prevent freezing. There are 5 relays and 9 terminals for wires. Power is connected at terminals 1 and 2. The relay at 2-3 is rated 17 amp full load, while relays 2-4, 5-6, 5-7, 8-9 are each rated 10 amp. Relays 5-6, 5-7, 8-9 are 'dry' and can be used for either 120V or 240V. Rating sheet Relay 8-9 can be used for low voltage pool light etc. |

P5043ME Expansion
module Use P5043ME Expansion module instead of P4043ME (shown above) ... to control 1-2 heaters and up to four PE24 valve actuators. The P5043ME Expansion module requires the 5-circuit PE653 multiwave receiver and wireless hand held PE953 remote control. What to do: Install the 5-channel PE653RC multiwave receiver to top of any Intermatic enclosure or Intermatic control center, then wire 120-240 volt pool pump and blower, and connect freeze control (so wire it normally as described above). Then, using Intermatic RS485 cable, connect the Expansion module to top of 5-channel PE653ME. Connect PE24VA valve actuator cables to ACT terminals at top of Expansion module, paying attention to polarity. Connect wires to 1 or 2 heaters based on model of heater (as shown in manual). Connect optional remote switch to top of Expansion module (to manually control actuators). See wiring illustration Apply 240VAC to the P5043ME expansion module via two terminals located at bottom of Expansion module. Cannot use 120 volt. See image Then program all operations through the wireless PE953 hand held remote control. This lets you use the wireless hand-held PE953 remote control for multiple pieces of equipment including 1 or 2 speed pool pump, variable speed pump, 1-2 pool heaters, up to 4 PE24VA actuators that toggle water flow between pool and spa, etc P5043ME expansion module requires 240 volt input.
