Instructions
for programming Utilitec 0155671 Press reset button with paper clip to reset and clear timer Plug timer in for 1 hour to charge internal battery. After battery is charged, timer can be unpluged for programming. Kitchler timer uses AA battery. Check that battery polarity is correct. Check outlet with circuit analyzer if you have problems with timers not working. Timer is rated for 1875Watts incandescent Incandescent (tungsten) means timer is not made for CFL ballast, althought this timer DOES work for CFL since I have CFL bulb connected to my Utilitec 0155671. To set current time: Press and hold clock button Keep holding clock button until settings are made. Press day until black triangle lines up with current day symbols that are printed on timer. MO TU WE TH FR SA SU Press Hour until current hour and am pm show. Pay attention to am and pm on left side of display. Press min until current minutes show Release clock button. Current time should display, and seconds will be blinking. Programming: Write out programming schedule to avoid conflicts in programming that cause timer not to function as expected. Timer can be set for 1 to 8 programs. You can set 1 program. or all 8. For example: program1 program2 ... through program8 Each program has ON time and OFF time. Each ON time is set for day, hour and minute, and then each OFF time is set for day, hour and minute. example Step1) Set program1 ON time > with day hour and minute example Step2) Set program1 OFF time > with day hour and minute example Step3) Set program2 ON time, etc How to program: Step1) Press PROG button until ON and 1 appear in display This is program1 ON Press day button to choose day or blocks of days you want program1 to turn ON. Keep pressing day button to cycle through the choices. Once day is selected, go directly to the hour button. Press hour to choose hour for program1 ON, pay attention to am and pm Then go directly to the minute button. Press min to choose minute for program1 ON Step2) Press PROG button until OFF and 1 appear on display This is program1 OFF Press day button to choose day or blocks of days you want program1 to turn OFF Once day is selected, go directly to the hour button. Press hour to choose hour for program1 OFF, pay attention to am and pm Then go directly to the minute button. Press min to choose minute for program1 OFF Step3) Set program2 thru program8 Press PROG button until ON and 2 appear on display This is program2 ON repeat steps and set up to 8 programs. When programming is complete, press clock button and current time displays. To return to programming, or to check or change programs, press PROG button and repeat steps above. At this point, the timer is operational. DO NOT PRESS the manual override button. There is no requirement to set Manual override. People report problems and confusion with override. Press manual override for 4 choices: Auto ON, Auto OFF, Manual ON, Manual OFF. Auto ON, means lamp turns ON immediately and programming resumes at next set point. Auto OFF, means lamp turns OFF immediately and programming resumes at next set point. Manual ON or Manual OFF is used as ordinary on-off switch This timer can also be used for random on-off times, and as a countdown timer. Random timer gives lived-in appearance while on vacation. Countdown turns lamp off after set length of time. Random and countdown features explained in pdf manual Troubleshoot: Make sure lamp is turned ON and that bulb is good. Check outlet for power, and check circuit breaker. Try timer on different lamp and different outlet. Check that correct time is set, and that each ON time has OFF time. Check programming for conflicts and overlaps. For example ON 8:00 pm Tuesday and OFF 10:00 pm All-days-of-week will cause timer not to operate. Test outlet with cheap circuit analyzer to ensure that issues are not causing problem with timer electronics. Buy another timer at Lowes or Target and return defect timer in new package. |
