8-pin timer base
Showing example SPDT pin timer wiring

NC = Normally closed
NO = Normally open
8 pin timer wiring 8-pin timer wiring/ assumes both power voltage and output voltage are same
Illustration shows typical 120Volt wiring..
Hot and Neutral connect to 2 and 7.

Install jumper wire between 7 and 8 to put 120V to timer relay.
When timer receives no power on terminals 7 and 2, then timer is OFF, then NC terminal 5 has power.
When timer receives power to terminals 7 and 2, then timer is ON, and NO terminal 6 has power, and terminal 5 has no power.

Complete circuit with neutrals at terminal 2

To use other terminals:
Add jumper wire between 7 and 1 (or 8 and 1)
Then connect load to terminals 4 or 3, with neutral connecting to terminal 2

Wiring shows on side of timer.

Illustration shows typical 120Volt wiring..
Hot and Neutral connect to A and B.

Install jumper wire between A and 7 to put 120V to timer relay.
When timer is OFF, then NC terminal 1 has power.
When timer is ON, then NO terminal 4 has power, and terminal 1 has no power.
Complete circuit with neutrals at terminal B

To use other terminals:
Add jumper wire between A and 9 (or 7 and 9)
As general rule, Input voltage will connect to terminals 2 and 10
Once power is applied to terminals 2 and 10, the other terminals should have no voltage, and show no continuity with Input terminals.

Always use multi-meter to check which terminals have continuity.
Set multi meter to read Ohms, and test each terminal to other terminals.

Terminals 1 and 11 are Com terminals. Since these terminals are 'dry' and have no power, a different voltage from Input voltage can be controlled.
Or jumper between input terminals and Com terminals to apply power to the Com terminals.

Terminals 9 and 3 are NC normally closed output, and will have continuity with Com terminals when timer is OFF
Terminals 4 and 8 are NO normally open output, and will have continuity with Com terminals when timer is ON.

Terminals 5 6 7 are another set of Com => NO NC terminals.
Terminal 5 is another dry Com terminal.
Terminal 7 is NC terminal.
Terminal 6 will be NO terminal.

Example 8-pin wiring for RELAY used in sprinkler system
Typical pin timer bases
AH3-3 wiringOff delay/ 120 volt
Off delay means the load turns ON immediately, and then load turns off after delay time expires.

3-way switch is convenient
Any switch position will start the delay
Click switch up starts delay... click switch down starts delay
Load turns off after delay period expires

Why the 3-way switch diagram works... because the switch is ON full time.
When the timer receives power... the load turns ON until delay period expires... but timer is still receiving power. If you temporarily stop power from going to timer, by clicking the 3-way switch to another position, then the timer resets, the light turns ON again until the delay period expires.
Load remains OFF until power is stopped and started again.

If you use single-pole switch... then the switch must be turned off and then back on to restart delay.
If single-pole switch is turned off, then load remains off

Off delay timer for recirculation systemOperate recirculation system remotely from 1-2-3+ different locations
How it works:
Do NOT connect voltage to bell wire going to push buttons
Buy delay timer and base
Connect 120volt Hot and Neutral wires to base as illustrated.
Buy thermostat or bell wire and connect to push buttons as shown
The push buttons receive no voltage or power... do not connect to power source.
Plug timer into base. Choose delay time from .05 seconds to 999 seconds
Push doorbell button. Activates timer.
Timer turns ON and begins countdown.
Pump turns ON and runs until countdown stops. Countdown is off-delay.
When countdown expires, timer turns OFF, pump turns OFF.
Delay timer rated 1/3 Hp.... recirculation pump rated 1/25 Hp

Example pause: connect terminals 3 and 4.

Do not apply power to terminals 3-4-5-6-7.
Power is applied to terminals 2 and 10. When the reset is applied, power flows from between terminals 3 and 7.

Power connects to terminals A1 and A2
Jumper power from A1 to COM terminals 12 and 25
Output terminals:
-NO (normally open= receive power when timer OFF)
-NC (normally closed= receive power when timer ON)

Relay is  DPDT, double throw relay controls 2 contacts (double pole contacts)
11 pin timer wiring Power connects to terminals 2 and 10
Com terminals are dry and receive no power when imput power is applied.
Wire the Com terminals with seperate power OR
Add jumper wire between power terminal and each Com terminals you want to send power to.
Test continuity with multimeter before adding power.
Com terminals are 8, 1, and 5.
When Com terminals have power, then the NC terminals will have power when timer is OFF.
NC terminals are 7 and 11 with the configuration that is illustrated.
When timer turns ON, then NC terminals have no power, but NO terminals have power.
NO terminals are 9, 6, 3 and 4 with the configuration that is illustrated.

This applies to off delay circuit that runs a fan for several minutes after boiler turns off.

For this specific application: When boiler is ON, the fan is ON. When boiler turns OFF, the circuit is toggled to the delay timer through a relay. The sequence of operation shown on illustration to the left applies to the delay timer. The delay timer keeps fan running ON. When delay period ends, fan turns OFF and remains OFF until boiler turns ON again.

Resource:
Add a fan to a boiler
This applies to a twin timer.
When power is applied to twin timer, the repeat cycle begins. Load 1 is ON for duration of T1 time setting.  After T1 expires, Load 1 turns OFF, and Load 2 is ON for duration of T2 time setting
When power to timer is turned OFF, the repeat cycle stops for minimum a second. When power is turned ON again, the repeat cycle resumes at T1

The twin timer has a reset option, same as many types of pin timers. A timer with reset function can remain connected to power continuously, and controlled by the reset circuit. When reset circuit is turned ON by connecting two termials, the repeat cycle stops for minimum .02 seconds. When reset circuit is turned OFF, the time circuit resumes at T1.
