Control gas water heater with wifi
The Aquanta wifi-controlled gas water heater timer interfaces with the COM port on WV series Honeywell gas valve for atmospheric heaters.
It does not interface with power vent Honeywell, but works with power vented heaters by connecting to incoming voltage.
This means the Aquanta works with both types of Honewell gas valves

Aquanta does not work with mechanical gas valves.

Hybernator programmable gas water heater timer

120Vac 50-60 Hz
Digital LCD screen

Rotates gas control valve knob between desired temperature set point and vacation setting.
Vacation setting is typically 50 degrees F to prevent tank from freezing.
Choose any desired temperature set point.
For example 120° degrees F is considered most economical temperature
Generally 130-135° degrees F to kill bacteria when washing clothes.
If hot water runs short, increase tank temperature

Hybernator installation Same basic installation for TYPE 1 and 2
There are 2 different brackets so Hybernator fits each different style gas control. Choose bracket that fits your gas control. Hybernator rotates gas control knob between temperatures selected when programming timer
Type 1 Installation Type 2 installation	Use marker and mark current temperature setting. Example shows temperature about 132°F. Also mark Low temperature, if Vacation does not show on control knob There are 4 programs, and each program can have different temperature settings, so you may want to mark more than 1 temperature on gas control. The mark will help reach desired temperature when programming timer.
	Next, rotate gas control knob so it is straight upward. Gas knobs vary: Rotate knob until triangle indicator is straight up, or on other gas controls, rotate knob until the word ‘Warm’ is upward. Hybernator arrives from factory with dial in vertical position, so set gas control knob in vertical position

Read instructions carefully
Missed step can result in confusion. Instructions arrive with product.

There are 4 weekday programs, 4 weekend programs
This will give 2 ON times and 2 OFF times for weekdays/ and 2 ON-OFF for weekends.
Advantage is that temperature settings can be different for weekdays and weekends.
Individual days cannot be set differently from each other.

Watch installation video carefully first.

Knob must be rotated to horizontal position before setting current time.
So knob on gas control knob has to be rotated to correct position before attaching hybernator

Mount timer to water heater before programming

Plug in timer, and then press either rotation button to watch Hybernator rotate gas control knob.

After knob is rotated to selected temperature, then set program times.

Installing this product on gas water heater will void water heater warranty
BUT, installing new anode rod, installing power anode rod, and other minor changes will also void water heater warranty.
After first year, water heater warranties are limited to free replacement parts if part fails due to workmanship.
Remove timer before requesting warranty service.
Do not call water heater company and ask if Hybernator voids warranty, or they will suspect that water heater is out of warranty.
