ST01 delay timerON Delay with programmable timer
Illustration shows ON delay wiring.
On delay means the load turns ON after delay period expires. Load remains ON until power is off.
Example uses ST01 timer as switch. (Or use Ei600... same timer with 5-year warranty)

ST01 Timer can be set for dusk-dawn. Automatically turns lights ON at night, and off at dusk.
ST01 Timer automatically adjusts for seasonal changes.
ST01 Timer can be adjusted 20 minutes longer or shorter than actual dusk-dawn

AH3 off delay timerHowever some folks want longer delay before lights turn ON at night
How it works:
ST01 Timer turns ON. AH3 timer receives power. Time delay countdown begins.
After delay period expires, light turns ON, and remains ON until ST01 timer turns OFF
Cycle repeats next time the ST01 timer turns ON.

Turn on 1 motor before another motor
120Volt or 240Volt

In-line fuse protects on-delay timer

Load 1 Turns ON when switch or timer turns ON.
Load 2 turns ON after delay

Reason for this system might be to reduct initial load on circuit so motor do not pull starting amps at same time.
Another reason is that one pump feeds water to second pump. Second pump should not start until water arrives from first pump.

Terminal S is trigger switch for some functions, install additional switch on a wire that connects to both terminal A1 and S... when the S wire is switched on, it causes the function to begin, such as latching relay or single shot, neither function useful for the illustration shown on left, or required for ordinary on or off delay.

240 volt Meter on any circuit

Use Kwh hour meter to record power usage of motor, or any electrical device.
This is most accurate way to determine what percentage of bill is going to any particular device.
To connect meter: Temporarily disconnect wires from top of heater. Install meter on two jumper wires. Use jumpers to temporarily reconnect power to water heater. Cover with tape to secure temporary connection. Add conduit and junction box if meter is to be installed for any length of time.

Hour meter works on vibration
Reliable Intermatic industrial quality
For example, meter records 100 hours on a 240 volt 1 Hp motor or pump
1 Hp uses 8 amps @ 240V
100 hours x 240 volts x 8 amps = 192 Kwh (kilowatthours)
Pumps use brief surge of amps during start up, so add 10% more for better exstimate.
Works for cars too

in line fuseUse in-line fuse when connecting 2 different gauge wires
Illustration shows smaller 12-2 cable connected to larger 10-3 cable.

The 10 gauge wire carries 240 volt plus a Neutral wire, and is protected by 30 amp breaker
The amp draw on 30 amp breaker is too large for 12 gauge wire.
12 gauge wire should have 20 amp breaker.
Connect smaller 12 gauge wire to 10 gauge wire using twist on wire connector. All connections must be inside electrically rated enclosed box with cover.
Use fuseholder with 20 amp fuse.
Fuse will protect entire length of 12 gauge wire.
Connect fuse to Hot wire.
Never put fuse on Neutral ... the Neutral wire must never be switched off, and must run continuous throughout installation.

If the 12 gauge wire is wired for 240V, instead of 120V shown in illustration, then fuses can be added to both hot wires.
Always make connections inside a box with cover
