PF1112T wiring
Large image of wiring

The PF1112T has one T104 240 volt timer, plus freeze control thermostat, and relay.
The relay is necessary to handle 40 amp capacity same as T104 timer. The thermostat can be purchased separately to replace one that is no longer functioning. Thermostat is not rated for 40 amps. Buy Intermatic replacement thermosat

The thermostat is mechanical bi-metal switch that reads approximate temperatures. Thermostat activates when temperature falls below set point. This activates the relay. The relay closes (turns ON) two circuits that override timer. If the timer is ON, the 240 volt pump will stay ON. If the timer is OFF, the pumps will turn ON and stay on until temperature rises above thermostat set point.

240 volt enters control panel with 2 Hot wires.  Hot wire 1 connects to terminal 1 and a jumper wire runs from terminal 1 on timer to contact 1 on relay. A wire runs from contact 1 on relay to the freeze thermostat.
Hot wire 2 connects to terminal 3 and a jumper wire runs from terminal 3 on timer to contact 3 on relay. A wire runs from contact 3 to the relay coil. Another wire runs from the other side of the relay coil to thermostat.
The pump connects to terminal 2 and terminal 4 on the T104 timer. A jumper wire runs from terminal 2 to contact 2 on relay. A jumper wire runs from terminal 4 to contact 4 on relay.

How to wire freeze thermostat
PF1202T wiring

PF1222TB wiring
How to wire PF1202T and PF1222TB

Your incoming 240 volt connects to terminals 1 and 3 on FILTER timer....
Clock motors for both timers MUST connect to live 240 volt. This means clock motor on CLEANER timer must connect to terminals 1 and 3 on FILTER timer, or to a team block where 240 volt arrives inside the control center. This wiring ensures that both clock motors are running at all times, and both yellow dials are rotating once per day.

On a control center WITHOUT freeze override, terminals 1 and 3 on CLEANER timer connect to terminals 2 and 4 on FILTER timer .... this means CLEANER can only turn ON when FILTER pump is ON...

On a control center WITH freeze override, terminals 1 and 3 on CLEANER timer connect to the freeze control as illustrated, and then connected to terminals 2 and 4 on FILTER timer .... this means CLEANER can only turn ON when FILTER pump is ON, same as control center without freeze.

The freeze override will send power to the Cleaner timer when temperatures drop below thermostat set point

Keep wires straight
Use solid copper wire
If wiring terminal or end of wire are covered with green, use emery board to clean terminal and sandpaper to clean wire.
Insdulation under screw plate

Both wires MUST be same gauge
Straighten each wire
If wire is corroded or overheated, clean the end with sandpaper and wipe with cloth.
If wire has been melted, cut back and reattach, or replace wire.
Tighten screw very tight against copper wire

Use wire connector
Push on wire connectors
Use push-on wire connectors
3 wires/ or different gauge wires
Join wires with wire connector or push-on connector
Run jumper to screw terminal.

Problem1: picture shows 2 different gauge wires under screw plate
Problem2: Stranded wire will expand and contract and come loose under screw plate, even if it is the only wire under the screw plate
Attach stranded wire and solid wire with wire connector, and run solid copper jumper wire to screw terminal
Take photo of wires before starting.

Add black tape when White wire carries voltage (applies to 208 and 240V circuits)

With 208 and 240 circuits, both wires are Hot, and both wires carry voltage
Black tape on White wire identifies wire is Hot and not Neutral
