T10604R wiring for 2 speed pump For controlling 2-speed pool pump with minimum cost and long-term reliability. Replacement parts are available and installed DIY with screwdriver. 240 volts supply voltage is connected to Terminals 1 and 2 on T104 timer on right side. Both timers have a clock motor that rotates the yellow dial once per day. The dial can hold up to 12 sets of trippers. Typically, the swimming pool timer has 2 sets of trippers for 2 OFF and 2 ON each day. Both clock motors are connected to terminals 1 and 2 on the T104 timer. The way it works: T104 timer controls the on-off function for the pump. When T104 turns on, power is sent to T106 timer. T106 timer has NO and NC terminals. One set of terminals or the other set of terminals is ON at all times. When power arrives from T104, the power is sent to either low or high speed on the pool pump. Trippers on the dial of the T106 timer control when the pump is high speed or low speed. When power arrives at the filter pump from T106, the circuit is completed through terminal 4 on T104. |

T-106 timer: 2-speed 240Volt pump>Timer acts as a high-low switch for continuous-running 2-speed pumps.T106 timer does not turn pump off. Use P1353 for 2-speed pumps that turn off >Or use 2 timers, and wire first timer before T106. See wiring diagram for two timers >Wire colors will be different. For example white wire may be Low speed. wiring diagram and instructions for pump Typically Low speed is running most of the time So connect Low speed wire to NC terminal 1, and High speed wire to NO terminal 4. Set timer to turn ON during times when High speed is needed. Minimum on-off is 1 hour. >Pump operates continuously. Pump
must be bonded to ground wire that
connects to dedicated ground rod... in addition
to regular ground wire from main breaker box Ground all electrical devices, and all household grounds together and bond to main breaker panel and to ground rod Do not ground to water pipe: Make sure ground is connected to ground rod Water heaters and metal water pipes corrode with stray current corrosion. Modern pex water lines are not affected, and cannot be used as a ground. When installing new water heater, water pipe, doing repairs on plumbing, installing new electric service etc... check that all electric is connected to dedicated ground wire that is bonded to outdoor ground rod Bonded means steel electric panel enclosure must be directly connected to local ground rod Outdoor control panel and pool pump must be bonded to ground rod located at point of installation/ local codes vary so consult local electrician/ some codes may allow bonding to metal conduit that enters the soil at point of installation... but stray current corrosion can cause deterioration of this conduit/ codes vary for grounding for many reasons, including because different soils offer different resistivity to grounding/ for example dense wet soils conduct to ground better than loose dry rocky soils Buy: Ground rod and clamps at Amazon Bonding lugs Resources: Why ground is important Basic household wiring See inside main breaker box What is 3-phase electric How to wire T100 series timers How to wire Control centers |
