Add another coat same as last coat... feathering outward making sure to
keep edges smooth and flat. With textured wall, just scrape rough spots with 6" knife. No need for sandpaper with textured wall. For smooth wall, you will apply 1 or 2 more coats identical to the last coat... feathering outward with each coat so the patch is larger. With light sand between coats using 220 grit paper. |

Make texture by adding water and paint to pre-mixed
mud. Adding paint (or primer) to texture is necessary. Paint will add body and durability to texture Without paint in texture, the paint brush will smooth away the texture when you are painting Mix texture so it is wet and runny. Use paint stick or cake mixer or potato masher to mix texture, depending on how big a batch you are making. Mix enough texture to cover entire wall to be textured. Next batch of texture might not match first batch unless proportions are same. I cannot tell you how to match each possible texture For best texture result, texture entire wall from corner to corner. Texture must dry completely before painting. For best paint result, paint wall corner to corner Spot texturing and touch up paint will work if the area is low and on a wall that does not get light down the lentgth. |
