People-first-or-religion-first
It can be noted that the simplest formulas are the best explanation for
how the world works (such as e=mc˛ and E=IR), and if the answer to a
question lies in a convoluted series of rituals or chants then its
accuracy must be brought into question. This means if every cultural
change must be forwarded to a committee of religious leaders, then the
formula is clumsier than merely letting the populace decide if they
like the new style of music or the new programs on TV. This ‘people
first’ interface is more modern and it simplifies the work of leaders
whose primary role, at least in modern society, is to organize the
social procedures that protect the food-supply and electric generation.
In the older model of beliefs, all cultural change was brought before a
committee of religiously appointed people that passed censorship and
issued the proper guidelines. Of course this censorship still exists
today, and always will, because it’s part of human nature. However in
‘free’ cultures today, there is a ‘people-first’ interface that decides
whether they like the ‘smiley face’ or the new TV programs before any
decree need be passed by a ruling entity. As a result, new ideas and
new technology are ‘free’ to emerge and course through the society
relatively untethered by ancient textural interpretation, and this is
in keeping with today’s scientific model that holds the simplest
formula to be the best formulae (such as e=mc˛ and E=IR).
