Honoring the 'digital rights' (DRM) of other people's work?
I suppose this will be the lobbyist's reason to make payoffs to the
legislature so they can consolidate the internet into 'providers' ...
In the mean time, Adobe DC ... the giant PITA pdf reader has eliminated
3 functions in their latest UPDATE...
> Copy text
> Open links inside pdf
> Open in a resized window ... it has to open full screen now...
All 3 features worked last week ... and I have a checkmark in 'don't
update' ...
But the FREE market prevailed and I got an update that ruined the
function for doing research ... you cannot even copy the link unless
you load the file into chrome and firefox ...
Which tells me chrome and firefox will be updating soon... with much
needed DRM protection..
Hurray you say ....
But what happens when you PURCHASE a monthly subscription to adobe???
Oh yes ..;. all that DRM 'protection' disappears... letting you open
links, copy content, and EDIT the pdf file... yes you can Paste new
content or delete existing content from the preciously protected file...
What a bunch of hooey the adobe people spew on us about protecting DRM
rights....
But ... heh heh
I saw forward years ago, and saved an old adobe 8 downloader ...
... and the old one functions fine, lol
