because the push is not for better DIY and recycling ... instead it's for big projects in solar and wind and robotics that replace our jobs with nothing ... because coal n nuclear are dependable and they create ongoing jobs...
Speaking for myself, the real problem is oversize, insistence on new rather than update, lack of conservation, poor quality of products, lack of repairability, few low-cost low-tech repair resources, dependence on electronic instead of mechanical, dependence on corporations to solve everyday problems, .... these are the things that ended the small repair shops that used to rewind motors and fix TVs instead of landfill them, or send abroad for repair.
