How to save html in chrome

Open Notepad program on computer
Ctrl+V pastes the code as plain text into Notepad
Additional code might be present at the top.
The top line should be <html>
Delete all code above <html>

Bottom line should be </html>

Press save icon on Notepad
Save as box opens and offers *.txt
Change .txt to .html
Change * to whatever name you want for the file
For example *.txt could be saved as Troubleshoot-household-electricity.html
Press save.
The chrome page is saved as HTML file.
This method preserves the original HTML code.

Paste into code editing software.
Word document is a code writing software, but adds it's own layer code. The original HTML code is gone.
If the original code is necessary, then notepad is easiest option for creating HTML.

Use Kompozer.
Download Kompozer from internet.
Open workspace.
Click Source tab at bottom of workspace.
Must be pasted into the source, not into workspace.

Several lines of basic code will display on source page. This code is not necessary to accomplish goal.
Click Ctrl+A to highlights basic code on source page.
Click Ctrl+V to paste code from internet over the basic code.

Additional code might be present at the top.

Delete all code above <html>

Bottom line should be </html>

Press save as icon and the page preview will show along with save-as box.
Kompozer only saves in .html format.
Title and save .html

Paste the code as plain text into Word.
Be sure to paste as plain text.
You can convert to plain text by right clicking in open space of Word and choosing plain text option.
Or paste code into social media, then highlight and recopy.
Or paste into Notepad or Wordpad then highlight and recopy.
Or paste into email as plain text and then highlight and recopy.
Or paste into email and send to cell phone, then copy into a note and send note as email to yourself, then highlight and recopy.

Once code is in Word document, <html> should be top line, and </html> should be bottom line.
Delete any content above <html>
Delete all content below </html>
To convert Word into single-space: On the file tab, far right is AA Change Styles.
Drop down menu > choose style set > choose Word 2003.

Press Save icon.
Save as box comes up.
Save as Type has drop-down menu. Choose .htm .html
Save using the name you want for file.
Locate file. If file is saved as .htm, then rename it with .html
Warning: the problem with this method is that you have the .html file of webpage, but Word has replaced the code that you copied from original web source, and converted it into the code that Word uses.
If you want to preserve the original code, then Notepad or Kompozer is best.
